What's New in CDM+ 12.2!

Overview

CDM+ 12.2 lays the the groundwork for the Suran Web Framework which will bring more and more features online in 2025 and beyond. This update enhances security features for both CDM+ and Engage and supports new hosting infrastructure to brings speed enhancements to CDM+. A variety of fixes, minor enhancements, and quality-of-life improvements round out CDM+ 12.2.

System Requirements

CDM+ 12.2. requires Data Hosting. Data Hosting is included with every CDM+ Plan at no extra charge.

Hosting Requirements

This release of 12.2 and all future releases will require Suran’s Data Hosting service. There is no additional cost to add hosting to your plan. Hosting provides multiple benefits such as:

• Secure 24/7 online access to your CDM+ database

• Improved server speed and security

• Automatic off-site backups every day

• Automatic server upgrades

• Easy installation on new computers

Setup Assistant

CDM 12.2 requires Data Hosting, which offers several benefits:

• Faster startup and database switching

• A streamlined process to enter hosting credentials

• Show/Hide option to view password during setup

• If the account only has one database, you will not have to choose which database to use upon setup

Contributions

Online Giving Statements

We updated some management tools for online statements that now give you the option to delete unnecessary batches.

Pledges

Pledge frequencies now include a Bi-Weekly option.

Email Statements in CDM+ Essentials

CDM+ Essentials users can now search against the Email Statements field on Giving Unit/Donor Records.

Entry Memo on Reports

Custom Listing and Export reports will now correctly format the Contributions entry memo field for data entered through CDM+ Engage.

We’ve added a Help Center site specifically for CDM+ Essentials:https://help.essentials.cdmplus.com/ce/

CDM+ will open the Help Center for the correct edition when accessing the Help menu.

Payment Processing

Expiring Cards

You can now access the Expiring Cards page in CDM+ Engage directly from CDM+ Desktop.

Fraud Prevention

We’ve added additional checks and safeguards against card testing using CDM+ Engage Giving.

Event Registration

We’ve updated how payments are displayed to provide a clearer understanding of balance, specifically when using a processing fee for online registrations.

Payroll

Payroll Direct Deposit

CDM+ 12.2 lays the groundwork for Payroll Direct Deposit through Paya EFT. This feature is expected to come online for all users during the first quarter of 2025.

Separately, CDM+ 12.2 allows changing dates on payroll transmitted by direct deposit to correct data entry mistakes.

Notices

We’ve improved how CDM+ handles special characters pasted into Notices from 3rd party software such as Word or Pages.

Denominational Customizations

United Church of Christ

CDM+ 12.2 includes the Local Church Profiles Portal and migrates and expands the Profiles Portal by adding functionality from the legacy UCC Data Hub. This new site is the UCC Database and Directories site.

Christian Church (Disciples of Christ)

CDM+ 12.2 includes a number of enhancements for Search and Call for the DOC, including:

• Inlined background checks

• Automatically expiring profiles when a minister changes regions

• Expiration notices for minister positions.

Next Generation Development

CDM+ 12.2 includes significant work on the next generation of CDM+. Several key systems are rolling out with the UCC Database and Directories site and will expand into the rest of CDM+ in the future.

Access Control Policies

• A new Access Control Policy system manages complex rules for what records and operations a user can access and perform based on their role(s). This system is debuting with the United Church of Christ Database and Directories site.

Field Manager

• A new field manager structure power dynamic, reusable, and configuration-based user interfaces.
